Timbavati Private Nature Reserve

"Big Five - Open to the Kruger National Park"

The Timbavati Private Nature Reserve comprises of approximately 53,000 hectares of private land adjoining the Kruger National Park.

Since 1962, the Timbavati Association, a non profit organization, has been dedicated to conservation by maintaining the bio diversity of species which would have continued to exist had man never encountered the land.

Currently, there are over 40 mammal species in the Timbavati including the Big Five of Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Buffalo and Elephant as well as 360 species of bird life.

The Timbavati Private Nature Reserve ensure the preservation of fauna and flora occurring on the privately owned farms for future generations.

Land in the area is restored to those conditions which are believed to constitute its natural state, maintaining the mix and balance of species and processes, which would have been present had it never been subjected to the hand of man.
