Parsons Private Game Reserve

Parsons Private Game Reserve is a member the Balule Nature Reserve and, as such, is integrated with part of the Greater Kruger National Park - limited traversing is offered.

Approximately 60km south west of Phalaborwa, and within an hour's drive of the major tourist attractions in the area, this reserve offers Big Five game on the banks of the Olifants River at a reasonable price.

Located in the Balule Nature Reserve, south west of Phalaborwa off the R40, west of Olifants North Game Reserve, on the north banks of the Olifants River.

Consisting of some 94 stands each approximately 21ha in extent, this was one of the first areas to drop fences and promote eco tourism. There is a formal conservancy, but the owners have no need to appoint a warden.

There is a strong community ethos, and the owners have taken it upon themselves to develop game drive trails for their mutual enjoyment.

No further sub divisions will be approved, and commercial activity is limited to 12 commercial beds per 21ha stand. There are currently 4 commercial lodges operating successfully in the area.

Situated in an escarpment area, there are stunning views, tall trees and areas of thick bush. Predominantly combretum / acacia veld, Parsons is open to the Greater Kruger Park. This reserve offers the complete getaway and absolute privacy if you want it. Access roads require a vehicle with clearance, and in the rainy season a 4x4 would be a big advantage.
